DAY THREE of filming: was the dance scene, the climax of the film's story. Kayla and Maddy had worked together to create the story for Baby Ask, but had struggled with how to "finish" it properly. It wasn't until they brought Jackson Hole-based choreographer Luke Zender on board, who's incredible talent not only for creating but also for teaching choreography helped to save the plot. Maddy worked with Luke and fellow lead dance Noelle Huser for weeks leading up to the film. In a matter of a few rehearsals, Luke was able to bring out the inner dancer in Maddy, who had never trained to move in this way before.
Baby Ask is a film about how we must learn to accept ourselves for all the sides that we are, and Luke's choreography captured perfectly the struggle between dark and light that lies within the core of all our inner workings.
